Blackpool are extremely close to securing their place in the play-off position, as they look to bounce straight back into the Premier league on the first attempt.

One of the main reasons for their great season has been the form of Angel Martinez, who has become a first team regular after joining from Espanyol in the summer.

He was initially expected to be a bit part player due to the fact that he was coming into an entirely new league. However, he has adapted brilliantly to the Blackpool way of playing according to manager Ian Holloway.

Angel Martinez was involved in only six matches during the first half of the season, but has been a first-team regular in the second half. Blackpool are currently in the fifth position in the table with an opportunity to close the playoffs position. They are also carrying a good run of form come the close of the season, as they remain undefeated in the last five matches.

Blackpool will be facing Burnley and Millwall in the remaining two matches of the Championship season. Middlesbrough, Hull, and Cardiff are capable of overtaking Blackpool in the playoff position. Ian Holloway was full of praise for midfielder Angel Martinez after their 1-0 win over Leeds United, which was well worth a football bet.

"He's growing into the country, he's learning to speak English and he's settled down now. Ludovic [Sylvestre] is really unlucky but I'd be crazy to leave out Angel. He's almost the first name on the teamsheet at the moment. Nothing's easy because we've got Burnley and then we've got Millwall. We needed to win three of the last four to definitely do it. We want two good performances in our two home games," Ian Holloway said after the 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
