Blackpool faces crucial game against Fleetwood

Blackpool will have to beat Fleetwood on Saturday if they want to keep their survival hope alive.

The Blackpool manager, Neil McDonald has admitted that this is one of the biggest challenges of his career and that they will need to get a result on Saturday.

Blackpool hopes of staying in League One was boosted by Fleetwood’s defeat at Millwall as well as Shrewsbury loss against Sheffield United.

The manager has stated that if Blackpoolwant to avoid relegation, they will need to win their remaining games and this start by beating Fleetwood. Blackpool who are currently 21st and 2 points behind Fleetwood will move out of the relegation zone if they win on Saturday.

McDonald has asked for a reaction from his players and believes that he will get it on Saturday. Their last match ended in a defeat at Rochdale, and the manager wants to see a better performance this time.

This has been the second defeat in a row for Blackpool, and the manager has prompted that there will be changes in the side that will face Fleetwood. He agrees that the second half performance was poor and that the team will have to pick themselves up. He added that the want to see more determination and character from the team.

McDonald conceded that his team was not aggressive enough and that they will need to believe until the end. Indeed, Blackpool was a different team when they went behind against Rochdale, and this is something that the manager will not want to see repeated against Fleetwood. He believes that the first goal will be crucial and that his team should be ready for a fight.
