Blackpool left frustrated

Blackpool were left lamenting “one of those days” after being frustrated by a struggling Watford side.

The Seasiders would have been hopeful of grabbing three points to bolster their efforts to secure a play-off spot, but according to Ian Evatt the side’s luck in front of goal let them down.

Speaking to the club’s official website he said: “It was very frustrating. It seemed to be one of those days today, we hit the post twice and had some great chances.

“They came here and parked the bus, so to speak, for 90 minutes and we had chance after chance but they just wouldn't go in for us.”

He added that the side were not too downhearted by things as they put in a good performance, so there were positives to be taken from things.

However, Evatt did admit that he felt the club deserved six points from their last two games and the fact they had not achieved this tally was a disappointment and those following the best football betting odds will understand this.

Blackpool head into the Christmas period in eighth, just three points behind Leeds who currently occupy the final play-off spot.

With this in mind, Evatt insists the club must now put their recent disappointments behind them and focus on the Boxing Day clash at Barnsley especially as Oakwood is a ground where the Seasiders have struggled in the past.

The Tykes saw their recent run of good form come to an end this weekend when they lost 1-0 to second-placed West Ham, but the Yorkshire club will be keen to get back to winning ways as they look to keep in touch with the play-off race.
