Championship club Blackpool are set to hold talks with former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler over a potential deal till the end of the season.

Robbie Fowler has been training with the Championship club for quite a while now with a view of getting a permanent contract till the end of the season. Robbie Fowler was last seen in English football with Blackburn Rovers where he failed to score in six appearances in the Premier league.

However, there is a belief that Robbie Fowler can deliver the goods when it comes to the Championship. This has been one of the reasons for Ian Holloway to allow the former Liverpool striker to train with the club.

Now, the club have confirmed that they have begun talks with the player, who has spent the last few seasons playing in Australia and Thailand. It remains to be seen if Ian Holloway will be convinced that whether the striker still has the determination and the determination to perform at the top level.

The 36-year-old may not have the pace to get away from the defenders, but he still has the finishing ability according to Blackpool manager Ian Holloway. Hence, Blackpool will not be shying away from the prospect of being able to sign one of the greatest strikers of English football.

"My chairman has got to talk to the boy himself tomorrow. I don't put pressure on my chairman. I don't understand what Robbie wants, it's none of my business. I've only spoken to him about football. I think he knows he could do it, I think he knows he would enjoy it and I think he knows I know he could do it," Ian Holloway said when asked about the possibility of signing Robbie Fowler.

Blackpool are trying to get back into the Premier league in the first instance, and they have the possibility of finishing in the play-off position. According to the current football betting online, Blackpool are slim favourites to make it into one of the two automatic promotion spaces.
