Dunne Wants To Train More, Cancels Holiday
Charles Dunne would not go on holidays this summer. He wants to put in effort on his fitness and his game during the current break so that he manages to create impact in his debut season at Blackpool FC.
Dunne had signed for Blackpool last year actually, but, he was placed on loan to Wycombe Wanderers immediately after his signing and he remained there for the entire first half of the 2013-14 Season. Thereafter, he suffered a nasty leg injury which ruled him out of the remaining part of the season.
The 21-year old has totally recovered now from that setback and is all set to join the Blackpool squad in the upcoming season.
Dunne has lost a lot of sweat working on his fitness in the last few months. He has had many fitness sessions to get himself back into shape.
Talking to the reporters yesterday, the youngster said, “I haven’t gone anywhere for holiday so far this year and I am not planning to go either. I remained here only because I was looking to get my body shape totally right before the season starts. I am so keen to play.”
When asked about his recovery, Dunne said, “Well, it was fracture. So, it was always going to take a few months. I had almost recovered in the previous season itself, at the end, but, I didn’t play. I was benched in one game.”
“Since the end of the season, I have tried my hardest to increase my leg strength and I am glad that I have been very successful in that. At the moment, my fitness seems to be pretty good.”
Dunne’s performances at Wycombe had caught the eyes of the scouts of quite a few Championship clubs, but, eventually, it’s Blackpool which secured his services at a transfer fee which didn’t get revealed.
