Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has said that the fans should not be worried about the lack of signings. The club has secured the signing of only one player so far in the transfer window.

Even worrying is the fact that that one player is an 18-year-old, who has very little first-team football experience. Yet, Ian Holloway has said that the club will be able to build on the play-off final finish last season by signing a number of high profile players before the close of the transfer window. The summer transfer window closes on the end of August and Ian Holloway has said that there is plenty of time for them to make difference in the squad.

There is also the fact that Ian Holloway does not need a lot of new faces at the club due to the fact that almost every player who took part in the extraordinary finish last season are still at the club. Only Stephen Dobbie is not at the club after he has returned to his parent club Swansea following the end of his loan spell. This lack of signings has meant that fans have been extremely vocal in the message boards criticising the transfer policy of the club.

“Don’t worry that we haven’t signed anyone yet. There are all sorts of options that we have, I’m just being very careful who we sign. We don’t need that many, and rather than the shotgun approach we used last summer, we are going to be very selective. I’ve got some very good sources this season of people with knowledge that we now have on board at the club. The core of the players we have means we don’t need much," said Ian Holloway in a recent interview. Blackpool are having their pre-season camp in Portugal.
