HUDDERSFIELD WIN RUDONI RACE
English Championship outfit Huddersfield Town has reportedly won the keenly contested race to sign Jack Rudoni ahead of Blackpool, Sunderland and other teams. This is according to the report from BlackpoolGazzette which stated that the Terriers have won the race to sign Rudoni. Israeli international Rudoni plays his club football at AFC Wimbledon in League Two
The interest of the Seasiders in Rudoni was confirmed by South London Press, but it was not known if they lodged a bid for him. They have since lost the player to Huddersfield Town who came close to earning promotion to the Premier League last season via the Championship playoffs. The Terriers were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest in the playoff final with the former European champions earning a place in the English top flight as a result.
Apart from Blackpool, Sunderland and Bristol City were also interested in signing Rudoni from Wimbledon.Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal to sign the goalscoring midfielder and he will now travel to Yorkshire to undergo a medical ahead of completing the deal.South London Press had earlier reported that the highest bid received for Rudoni was £500,000 plus add-ons and that Wimbledon were holding out for more.
Incoming Huddersfield Town player Rudoniwas one of the best players at Wimbledon last season. In a team that suffered relegation in League One, Rudoni scored 12 goals and bagged five assists. His impressive performances for the Dons led him to being named the club's player of the year last season.
Rudoni, 21, is a product ofthe AFC Wimbledon academy. Since his debut three years ago, he has scored 17 goals in 106 appearances. Wimbledon would have loved to keep Rudoniat the club beyond this summer in their quest to return to League One at the first time of asking, but they are almost resigned to losing his services.
