Nathan Delfouneso, the Blackpool stalwart signed another year with Seasiders, by showing his act of dependency towards the future. Nathan Delfouneso who is a forward footballer, during this summer wasn’t visible in the contract but today the relationship of Nathan and pen to paper has taken place for a fresh contract which is ahead of his past seven seasons with Blackpool, for a renewed two-year contract which also includes an alternative for extension of 12 more months.

Nathan Delfouneso, the 28-year-old youngster with lots of desire and dedication towards the game of football, scored seven times in order to end the campaign resulting to him being the second highest club’s goal-scorer by making season appearance amounting to 45.

Bradford City have endured an underwhelming season in League One as the club currently sits bottom of the league.The basement side has endured a torrid few weeks and the game against Blackpool was seen as a turning point for the team.

However, the team put in a dismal performance as they lost 4-1 at home to the Playoff chasing side and the players were subsequently booed by their fans after the final whistle. Bradford City manager Gary Bowyer is not giving up hope in his team making an escape from the drop.

Blackpool’s backup goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi has spoken of his goodwill to fellow goalkeeper Mark Howard who suffered a ruptured Achilles injury. Mark Howard had suffered the injury in Blackpool’s defeat at Burton Albion last month and has undergone successful surgery.

Mafoumbi knowns the pains of suffering from a long-term injury having suffered a similar injury some few seasons ago. The Congolese international has since taken the stead at the club and has been in good form. With Howard out until next season,Mafoumbi would be expected to man the sticks until the end of the season.

Blackpool defender Ryan McLauglin is said to be on the verge of a move to Sky Bet League One outfit Rochdale, as the player has failed to make his mark at Blackpool this season.

The 24 year old has been disappointing for Blackpool this season, managing just a single league appearance and spending the larger part of the campaign on the bench.

Blackpool FC Awarded For Securing The Top Spot In Respect Table Of League One

Blackpool FC has been rewarded with a prize money of £20,000 by the Football Association for securing the top spot in the last season of respect table of League One. The award given to them acknowledged the exemplary disciplinary record of the team, which saw the team being given the least number of yellow cards (54); also no player of Blackpool received any red card in the whole season. This recognition and acknowledgment also highlight the deference shown toward the players of opposing team and the match officials. The Football Association’s Programme of Respect was initiated in the year of 2008 with the motive of uniting the game of football and making sure that football is enjoyed in peaceful, safe and a level of inclusive environments.

The prize money of £20,000 will aid the work which is being carried out by Community Trust of Blackpool FC. Ashley Hackett, the chief executive of the club said “We are not surprised that our club has won this award. The attitude of the coaching staff and players, both on community visits and on the pitch, has always remained highly professional. “They have always supported the projects carried out by us and we thank and congratulate them for this prize and their continued co-operation. He added this is really a great gesture from the team of Football Association and it is a resource which is highly appreciated and we will use this resource to continue our work within the community of Blackpool.

Blackpool manager Terry McPhillips wants his team to start winning more games rather than drawing them. Indeed Blackpool has drawn six games out of their first 10 games in the league and Terry McPhillips wants his team to improve this statistic.

He said that they have made a relatively good start to the season and that it is important now that they reach another level if they want to be ambitious. He said that you need to start winning games if you want to climb further up the table and he feels that his team has the potential to do it.
Terry McPhillips said that they have been working hard on the training ground to improve every aspect of their game and he wants his players to believe that they can achieve it.

Blackpool sign Leeds United defender on loan

League One side Blackpool have managed to acquire the services of young Paudie O’Connor from Leeds United on a season-long loan deal. The 20-year-old centre-back made his first-team debut for the Peacocks against Sunderland in April this year and he most-recently penned a new contract before joining the Seasiders.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he said:“I’ve had a nice week of getting a new deal at Leeds and then getting the opportunity to come to a great club like Blackpool. I’m really excited to get in, meet the lads and get training. I’m looking forward to getting a full season of first-team football under my belt, hopefully.”
