Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has said that his team will be playing with their best efforts in the match against Everton. Blackpool will be facing Merseyside club Everton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Ian Holloway will be aware of the fact that any progress into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup will mean that there will be like a distraction from the job at hand – returning to the Premier league.

Blackpool are currently in the fifth position in the table. This would guarantee them play-off position in the summer. Even though they came to the Premier league last time around through the play-offs, Ian Holloway will be looking to make it into the automatic promotion spots this time around.

West Ham United and Southampton were looking like being able to run away with the automatic promotion spots earlier this season, but their steam has come to an end in recent weeks. As a result, teams like Birmingham city and Blackpool have a real chance of qualifying for the Premier league on automatic basis. Blackpool are only four points behind second placed West Ham United, but Ian Holloway has said that they will be putting their entire focus on the fifth round FA Cup match against Everton.

“We can’t do anything else other than have a go. They’ve just beaten Chelsea at home 2-0, so we know the enormity of the task. It’s not just about the result. I want a decent performance that we can take away and say ‘Look, that’s what we did at Everton’. It’s about us understanding our way of playing, keeping it going and improving all the time,” he said. Everton come on the back of a 2-0 victory over Chelsea in the Premier league, while Blackpool recently defeated Doncaster Rovers 3-1.
